DIY Christmas Pineapple
When I found out Christmas Pineapples were a thing (Thank you, Jozlynn!) I immediately knew I had to jump on the decorating train. Plus, I'm about to embark on a tropical getaway to Thailand this Friday, so this just got me even more stoked for our trip.
I've been really into the minimal Christmas look with a small color palette and metallics mixed in, so here's my take on the Christmas Pineapple and how to make it.
Supplies:
- Pineapple
- 2 cans of spray paint (I was going to use blue and white at first, but switched to black and white)
- Tiny ornaments (I used bells)
- Small ornament hooks
- Star or centerpiece for your pineapple (I used a small, sparkly snowflake ornament)
- Mini tree lights
- Hot glue gun
- 2 Toothpicks
Optional: Pineapple Tray
- Balls of small styrofoam for snow
- Fake snow for decor
- Wooden tray
- Spray adhesive
If you're going to create the tray, spray it first, so it can dry.
Next, paint your pineapple. Put a bag over the leaves and spray the base the color of your choice. Then let the base dry and spray the leaves.
While the pineapple dries, start prepping your other pieces. Put the hooks on the ornaments and prepare your topper. I glued a small snowflake ornament to two toothpicks and stuck it to the top of the pineapple.
Now for the fun part...decorating your pineapple! Hook the ornaments to the pineapple leaves. Put your star or topper in the middle of the leaves. Wrap the lights around the base of the pineapple. Tip: I hot glue gunned some of the lights to the pineapple, so they would stay put.
If you're creating the tray, use spray adhesive to stick the snow balls onto the tray. Trust me, you'll want to put some glue on there because you don't want that mess on your table haha.
Add some fake snow to the tray (I also sprinkled some on top of the pineapple for added flare.) Then tah-dah! You made the dopest Christmas Pineapple!
