Salvation Mountain

For the longest time, I’ve been wanting to visit Salvation Mountain. So for my birthday, we went on a little weekend trip to inland California. If you’ve never heard of Salvation Mountain, it’s a colorful, large-scale art installation created by Leonard Knight in 1984. He created the unique sculpture with adobe, straw and thousands of gallons of lead-free paint. Leonard’s work is currently maintained by volunteers and donations of paint.
